Dear journal,

It would appear I have much training to do in order to control the vast amount of dark magick I can tap into. Upon attempting a trip from Londra, Albion, to the capital of Kasuria, Malgrave, I was thrust extremely far from my target.

Entire lightyears away - lightyears, I've been told, being the time in which it takes for light to travel in one year's time. An entirely alien concept to me, seeing as I never thought the planets and star systems around Urrth were habitable, much less by sentient and advanced civilizations!

I digress. When I first arrived, a fellow feline (though one with far more tails than I) called Tsuta greeted me, along with a very tall human named Mayon. They showed me the meadhall.

A few days later, I was flying over the island of Idavollr (the isle itself floats over mainland Alfheim) and came across a half-elf named Ecksel doing some sort of magickal research. He yelled at me for disturbing him, at first, which was honestly warranted. After he'd calmed, we spoke of our disparate arrivals to Alfheim - him appearing within the city despite the wards that were supposed to halt that much ingress, and I appearing just outside the city gates, as was the intended result of those wards.

Beyond this, we discussed ways of getting myself home. The alfbru - a teleportation 'bridge' powered by alfen light magick - was brought up as an option, but I prefer to travel under my own power. That way if something goes wrong, I have only myself to blame. I asked he could aid me in powering up my energy stores, but he became quite distressed and stated that he wasn't confident in his ability to control his power. Thusly, I came up with the idea to use a prism, gem, or crystal with enough clarity and resonance to hold a great amount of magick. Magick that he, Ecksel, would slowly place in the stone, day by day, until I had enough magick to power my portal for long (LONG) distance travel once again.

The next day, a terrible rainstorm shut me into the meadhall and I met Gideon, an arcanist of some sort. She offered to exchange her rather large 'dragonshard' crystal for a goodly amount of coin (an entire gold bar, in fact...) so I'll be taking out a loan or perhaps owning her money for a while until I can return with the coin stashed away on Guildereim.

During this transaction, we were attacked by a giant, spike-laden creature [Ryszen] and chaos ensued. Gideon lost her arm to the creature but I stopped the bleeding and others appeared to aid, including an equally spiky fellow apparently named 'Belial.' He and another chap named 'Kinyr', according to Gideon, are attempting to raise an army by combining their DNA to form those creatures. It seems foolish to me, but I know not why they'd need an army.

Now more than ever, I need to get back home, if only to return with the money I owe and somehow aid in the fight against these beasts. I am no battle-mage, much less a warrior, but I'm involved in this now. It is what it is!
